The Himes Family

John Hoover , born in 1801 Married Rebecca and had Jeremiah and Sarah .

Jeremiah Hoover* was born around 1839 in North Washington, Butler County, PA. I had 1850 Census information on here but I believe it to be wrong so I've removed it.

On the 1860 Census, his name is misspelled as "Jeremaih" and he is twenty two and living in Heath Twp, Jefferson,PA. In 1861 Jeremiah enlists in the Union Army. His residence is still listed as Jefferson county. He entered and left the Army as a "Private" and was in L Company, 11th Regiment, Pennsylvania Cavalry (108th Volunteers).
When Jeremiah lived in Millstone, Elk, PA in 1870 His neighbor was John Hoover (believed to be his brother). John had a son named Edward and a daughter named Matilda.
